I have been selling online for over 20 years and it has been quite a journey.
I started out selling on eBay and quickly grew the business until I was a PowerSeller with multiple eBay stores, generating over $1,000,000 in revenue.
We gradually expanded our eBay stores, eventually working with over 40 of the largest international distributors, wholesalers, and brand names, including Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Sony.
During this time, we launched a dedicated e-commerce store with a proprietary CMS. We built the site from scratch and it allowed us to get more business customers supplying them with IT equipment and servers.
Then, about 15 years ago, Amazon FBA came along and the business grew even further. We found with Amazon FBA, we could really ramp up sales and reach more customers.
Using Amazon allowed us to expand internationally, and we were soon selling in many of the largest marketplaces, like Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.
Around this time, we also began our collaboration with a supplier integration platform. We started fulfilling thousands of customer orders on behalf of Walmart, Tescos, Staples, Ebuyer, and Argos, as well as smaller retailers.
With the business ticking over nicely, and having sold over $10,000,000 of products, I noticed there were support groups on Facebook for struggling Amazon FBA sellers. At first, I simply joined other groups and offered my help where I could.
Then the entrepreneurial bug got me again, and I thought “Why don’t I start my own group - it might be fun.” 🥳
This is when Amazon Selling for Beginners Facebook Group was created (remember to join us if you are not already a member 😉).
This proved to be very rewarding, and the community grew quicker than expected, with over 10,000 members joining in the first year. Next, I decided to start a Facebook Group for more advanced sellers and “The Selling Guys” website.
I could now reach more people, getting thousands of visits a month on the website. From running the groups and helping sellers, I could see common questions and problems faced by online sellers. I could now write guides and reviews to help them 💪.
We currently have over 40,000 members in our community!
My aim is to keep growing this site and the wider Selling Guys community. This will help even more people from all over the world make a success of selling online.
